FashioNXT - Up/NXT Emerging Designer Competition Auditions August 10

July 23, 2014, Portland, OR: On Thursday, October 9, 2014, the FashioNXT runway will light up with the most promising emerging fashion designers. Designers interested in the FashioNXT-Up/NXT competition are required to appear at the August 10th audition in front a highly influential judging panel.
“Portland has strongly established itself as the most fertile hotbed of emerging talents in the fashion industry”, says Michelle Lesniak, winner of Project Runway Season 11, one of five Portlanders to win, the most by any other city."I’m glad to be apart of your success in continuing to be the most effective platform in the region where emerging designers get the boost for bigger national platform”, she continued.
“Our long experience in catapulting emerging designers to get national press and prominent accounts enabled us to identify the critical needs for the emerging designers to take their business to the next level”, says Tito Chowdhury, Executive Producer of FashioNXT, whose leadership in promoting Portland’s fashion industry got recognized in TIME Magazine and the Wall St Journal, as well as Portland’s highest Mayoral Award. “The selection criteria and the prize package is meticulously designed to include items that address many of those needs throughout the year”.
